Protein Powder Prices in Cyprus: Live Comparison

Protein powder in Cyprus ranges from about €1.36 to €10.36 per 100 g depending on where you buy it. That is not a small difference — the expensive end costs roughly 7.6× the cheap end for a product doing the same job. This page tracks what whey and other protein powders actually sell for across the Cypriot shops people already use, updated every morning from each retailer’s own storefront, so you can see the spread instead of guessing at it.

What protein powder costs in Cyprus right now

We read the public catalogues of the Cypriot retailers we track daily and normalise every listing to € per 100 g. That last step is the one that matters: a 2.3 kg sack and a 700 g tub are not comparable until you divide, and pack size is the easiest way for a headline price to look better than it is. Across the tracked protein listings, the median works out around €3.93 per 100 g, which is a useful sanity line — if you are paying far above it, you are paying for something other than protein.

Products in this table with a protein value checked against the manufacturer label: 1 of 10. One value per product: where the manufacturer shows several flavours, the lowest one we read is used.

Prices are collected automatically from each retailer’s own public storefront and normalised to € per 100 g so packs of different sizes can be compared fairly. They can change at any time — always confirm on the retailer’s page before ordering. CapyFuel sells nothing, so no CapyFuel product is in this table — every row is an independent retailer, ranked on price alone.

Why the same protein costs so much more at one shop than another

The spread between the cheapest and priciest listings is not simply some shops overcharging. Most of it comes from four things worth separating out before you decide anything is a bargain.

Pack size. Bulk sacks almost always win on € per 100 g, and that is exactly what the per-100 g column exposes. The catch is honest: a 2.3 kg tub is only cheaper if you actually finish it while it is still fresh and you still like the flavour.

Protein percentage. A concentrate might be 70–80% protein by weight; an isolate is typically higher. Two tubs at the same € per 100 g of powder are not the same price per 100 g of protein. Our whey protein reviews score products on declared composition — protein density, transparency, additives, amino integrity — and never on price, precisely so you can hold the two apart.

What else is in the tub. Mass gainers and protein-fortified foods are much cheaper per 100 g than whey because most of the weight is carbohydrate. We deliberately exclude them from this table; if we did not, they would fill the top of it and the comparison would be worthless.

Brand and import route. Cyprus is an island market, and freight is a genuine cost. It is not customs, though — there is no duty and no import VAT on supplements ordered from another EU country. What raises island prices is shipping, not tax.

Reading the table without fooling yourself

Three habits make this data much more useful. First, compare the per 100 g column, not the price column — the cheapest tub on the shelf is very often the most expensive protein in the shop. Second, check stock status: we sort in-stock listings above cheaper out-of-stock ones, because a price you cannot buy is not really a price. Third, look at the 30-day low. If a listing is well above its own recent floor, it may simply be between promotions, and waiting a week costs nothing.

If you want to run the numbers on a specific tub — including cost per serving rather than per 100 g — the cost calculator does the arithmetic for you.

What protein actually does, in the words the EU allows

There are exactly three authorised claims for protein, and they are deliberately modest. The full list, quoted as approved, is shown below.

The wording above is the only effect wording used on this page; the price table above compares cost, not effect.

Where to go next

Authorised health claims are quoted verbatim from the European Commission’s EU Register of nutrition and health claims made on foods. Prices are collected automatically from each retailer’s own public storefront and can change at any time — always confirm on the retailer’s page before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

How much does protein powder cost in Cyprus?

It varies widely by pack size and brand — see the live table above for today's exact range and median. The table on this page is rebuilt every morning from each shop's own storefront, so it reflects current prices rather than an average from some past month.

Why do you compare price per 100 g instead of price per tub?

Because pack size is the easiest way for a headline price to mislead. A 2.3 kg sack and a 700 g tub are not comparable until you divide. Normalising to € per 100 g is what makes the cheapest tub on the shelf and the cheapest protein in the shop distinguishable — they are very often not the same product.

Will I pay customs or import charges on protein ordered from another EU country?

No. There is no customs duty and no import VAT on supplements ordered from another EU member state. What raises prices in an island market like Cyprus is freight cost, not tax.

Do you include mass gainers in the protein table?

No. Mass gainers and protein-fortified foods are much cheaper per 100 g because most of their weight is carbohydrate rather than protein. If we included them they would occupy the top of the table and the comparison would be worthless.

Does CapyFuel rank itself first in these tables?

No — there's nothing of ours to rank. CapyFuel sells nothing, so no CapyFuel product appears anywhere in this table; every row is an independent Cypriot retailer at today's real price, sorted on price per 100 g with in-stock listings placed above cheaper out-of-stock ones.

How often are these prices updated?

Every morning. A collector reads each retailer's public storefront, normalises every listing to € per 100 g, and reloads the table. The 30-day low column shows whether a listing is currently above its own recent floor.
